The host of Desert Island Discs and Crimewatch has a perfectly cinched waist.

Kirsty, 43, keeps trim with regular Pilates and consulted hypnotist Paul McKenna to help her lose weight after the birth of her two daughters.

Try this: The Pelvic Scoop uses the muscles in the waist. Lie face up with feet flat on the floor, knees bent, arms by your sides.

Cross your right ankle on to your left thigh just above the knee so the bent right knee points to the side.

Curling the lower back slightly towards the floor, squeeze abdominal muscles and lift hips off the floor (your pelvis tilts up toward your ribs).

Curl the pelvis as far as you can without putting pressure on your back.

Hold for a couple of seconds. Lower your back to the floor.

Repeat eight to 12 times on each side.
